Custom Textures going wild

Post by Hell_Soldier »

something makes my custom textures look like this:
Image

when i compiled the map with all the 3 stages of BSP, VIS and LIGHT, it came out like in the picture above.

but when i compiled it just with only the 1st stage (BSP) it came out fine.

i think its something with the VIS stage that causing this, during compiling i noticed this written in the VIS stage:

Code: Select all

vis_derived = 0
whats the problem? :?

please help

have you tryed scaling the texture by pressing s while the flag shape is selected then scale the texture so it fits the shape.

Just a wild guess

Just a guess but are the textures you used seamless?

These do have breaker lines at the end, but they are easily removed ;)

Have you used the right image size? As far as I know that 'tiling problem' is caused by not using the right texture dimensions. The height and width dimensions should be divisible by 16 and the outcome should be an integer value.

A couple of valid texture dimensions are:
32x64 32x96 64x112 64x64 64x128 128x128 128x256 256x256 etc...

i said that everything is fine and i fixed the problem.

i believe the problem was barrels made from func_group (patch meshes)

Yeah I read it but I seriously doubt that's the cause of the distorded texture display, hence my post.
Just trying to help but hey you're right, if it's fixed for now it's fine :)

Wouldn't Control + F (fit the texture to the brush) have fixed the problem?
