More script frustration

Post by Faceball »

I made a script and saved it as .scr with notepad. It saves it as a screen saver. How do i change it to be able to place it in the MOHAA folder. Is there a program needed to do this?

Under WinXP (windows-exceptional poop), you need to go into your 'explorer' and under 'options/folders' define the new ".scr" extension. I didn't link mine to any file type and I have no issues now. Real bugger of an issue when I started. Depending on your file structure choices it can cause a lot of headaces. IF you keep it in the same folder with your map, i.e. maps/dm or maps/obj you shouldn't have issues.... but be sure to work on it in NOTEPAD and always save it with the quotes and .scr at the end "mymapname.scr"

I did use make it with notepad, however i did not use the "" around mymapname.....and do have XP. When i saved it it looks like a program file...(big sqaure application box).

Do i still need to change this as you said? or will it still work if placed in the correct folder?

This is how i saved it

mymapname.scr

should it be saved

"mymapname.scr"

Either way, they both work. However, you must save under all files.
Live to map, not map to live.
