sv_allowdownload is an unused cvar that would allow clients to download .pk3's from the server. this was never supported in MOH anyway so it should probably be set to 0, just in case.
i am not sure, but i think this was abandoned in the source code - So i think the answer is no. however it may be possible to do this with a third party program??
otherwise I dont even think most servers would function well if they had to handle an additional download with every client joining.
EA removed the bits of the code responsible for the download system from the source, thus removing this feature. They also removed portal surfaces, some shader features and lots of other stuff that would be really really handy for us modders.
Sometimes I really think those guys at EA are hardcore retards.
Ive been thinking of an autodownload for a while. I havent gotten around to starting it but it is really going to be like an auto-patcher.
Start the program it connects to a file server and downloads all the recent stuff ive added to it and installs them. This way they would only have to download once. Also make a site for it thats for map reviews, contests, and ppl to submit their maps to get added.
After i finish my class on programming ill give it a try.
Unless there is some programmer here who would like to start it now. I would have no problem fronting the money for what it takes to get it off the ground.
AUto donwload cud work, but ..u have to get the ppl to donwload the auto donwload..:S
, if it had been made say 5 years ago and built into a mohaa app for launching. donwload and controling client needs, install mods etc. IT cud of been great by now.
I know solid is doing it. BUT if you havent noticed their site has been deleted entirely and last i heard it was going to take 1 - 2 years to release it
