MOHAA wont let me patch it??

I installed the game, want to update to patch 1.11( I think) but when I run the patch it says it cant find mohaa installed on the machine.

Any ideas??

yeah its intalled in C:/eagames/mohaa

You need either the registry fix or the 1.10 patch first.

I bet its the 1.10 thing thats messing with it.

The "Registry" is a Windows control thing--controls all applications. Changing it can cause your computer to crash and never work again--very dangerous! If you want to look at it, go to start/run and type "regedit". It has search, so you can look for "mohaa" in it, if you want. You should be able to find what patches it is using there.

I downloaded 1.10 patch, still didnt detect my install. So I just went ahead and installed spearhead and then run the spearhead patches on that it all worked fine.

So its ok now but mohaa still isnt patched and I have no clue why, weird.

The patch for mohaa installs pak.6 in main. It also replaces pak.5 with an updated one, I think.

If you type "version" in the console, it will tell you which it is using.

Nope, Tom, it doesn't touch the original paks (0-5). It also replaces the exes and dlls.

Jack, copy & paste this into notepad, save it with a .reg extension and run it. You will be able to install 1.11.

I have this problem everytime i install MOHAA. You have to rename the version folder in the registry like so:

1. Run regedit
2. Go to hkey_local_machine/software/ea games/medal of honor allied assault/
3. Right click on the directory that's called something like 1.1.12.whatever
4. Select rename and change it to 1.2.1.100
5. Now the patches should work!

If you have recently changed your copy of mohaa then this may be the problem also. I lost my old disks so bought a new copy, the new copy was the Deluxe Version or something and it comes with the mohaa patches already installed. You should check you eagames\mohaa\main directory to see what .pk3 files are installed. The extra ones I get is Pak6EnUK.pk3 and pak7.pk3 which means my mohaa is already patched to the latest version .
