Find the non shader texture, And make it a generic shader?

what that means is that one of your textures doesnt have a shader. find the image it's telling you about, find another that's similer (two brick walls, for instance) and find a working .shader for the one that's giving you the error.

crash

Post by tltrude »

I dought it is a missing texture that is the problem. Type logfile 1 in the console and try to load the bsp. There should then be a file named qconsole.log in main. Copy its content and post it here.

I agree, a missing texture would simply just not show up (or as funky blue and yellow lines).
This most certainly isn't the reason for the crash.
Also just simply try looking at the console to see what error that may give if it boots you back to the main screen during loading, a comon problem is a problematic door...ie not made it all function door by mistake (iv'e done this  ) by this I mean the origin brush was func rotating but the actual door wasn't.

I looked at the console screen and it might have been a door that was slightly out of alighment it was one grid into the floor texture now I have to compile it again lol 22 hours again lol.

You can do a fast compile if you just want to test your map.

You can skip Light and VIS (you can use the 'pause after bsp' option for this), you can test your map only with the BSP compile.
Or if you want to test some lights fast use the -fast option for light.
There is also a -fast option for VIS.

Naa I want to see the finished map.

Oh bitherway when I make a fence with fence texture do I have to tick the fence box in the surface options.

Beacuse it shows up yellow fence posts and black in the gaps between.
