There has never been a death directly related to marijuana use. It is not physically addictive, and you cannot overdose on it.
I'd say Marijuana IS a narcotic (according to the definition of 'narcotic' as "(kind of drug) producing sleep, often blunting the senses and, in large doses, producing complete insensibilty [...]".)
I don't think that science knows a lot about weed, coz, i'd say, we (kids like me who are around 20 years old) are the first generation to make rather excessively use of it.
About the addiction and overdose: I know ppl who smoke weed like other ppl cigarettes; they aint interested in anything anymore and became real lazy... Sure, a spliff from time to time sure wont hurt
And I agree with you about legalizing it.
umm probably every generation thinks they are the 'first to use it excessively' but I assure you, you arent.

Yeah, but that's mentally addictive, I said physically addictive. Stuff like nicotine in cigerretes is pysically addictive - weed is only addictive if it forms as a habit in your mind, as a lot of things can do.

Marajuana is considered a narcotic.

In the life of marajuana its just been of recent that its been illegal.
http://www.umsl.edu/~rkeel/180/drughistory.htm

I think that Marajuana has a mental and physical addiction but not chemical. Cigarettes have all 3 addictions.

We defintly are brainwashed to believe alcohol is okay and weed is bad.
After all didn't Jesus drink wine? Did Clinton inhale? LOL
A matter of fact a number of our Presidents smoked the weed starting with George Washington.

OK, We were taught in school that George washington chopped down the cherry tree and had wooden dentures but why do you think they didn't teach us that he also raised and smoked marajuana?

well, i don't smoke weed, but i see how some of my friends do, and hey, would you say that it's normal to smoke like 8 spliffs a day?! i mean, it doesn't actually matter if we are the first generation, i just think that ain'l yet "long" studies on excessive marijuana consumption...

Damn I just spent half hour trying to find a thing about weed on a blog I read the other day, it was in the comments section, some doctor dude talking about how there are receptors in our brain that are ONLY able to accept the weed chemical thc, he was saying that either since people have been smoking it (a few thousand years) we may have evolved the receptors or if they have always been a part of our brain then God intended us to smoke it :)

IT has been proven it isn't actually.

Oh and 8 spliffs a day? Christ no.

For me it's never that in a week - maybe half that at most.

Maybe in the US, but in Britain I am positive it is not.

An apple is an apple even in the UK!

One of the most common illegal drug in the United States is marijuana. There are mixed views about this drug, some people want it legalized, other people don't. In this essay, I hope to display the facts about this illegal narcotic, and explain many vie Marijuana has many different names such as "kif" in Morocco, "doggo" in South Africa and "gangi" in India. There are many slang terms for this type of drug such as "grass," "pot," "weed," "reefer," "mj," "boo," "broccoli," "ace'', "joint," "Colombian" Tetrahydrocnnabinal(THC) was not found until the mid 1960's. Marijuana can be used medically or for an intoxicant. Doctors prescribe it to relieve pain for people in chemotherapy, or...

I have not been brain washed. I have just not been told the truth. Still, this looks to me as if you're trying to find an excuse.

Anyhow, Rookie, we don't need an excuse to smoke pot...
Your just too busy being 'good' to be open - don't kick it unless yuo've tried it.

Anyhow, this thread should be closed as enough has been said, and these debates never turn into anything constructive

Anyone wanted to know what are the origins of Mj's nickname? There you go. ;)

You may call it "being busy trying to be 'good'", but it's my pride and honour that don't let me use any kind of 'cheats' (that's basically what these drugs are).
