help with glass textures

Post by acdc992004 »

I've tried to make several glass textures of a blue color window. I was successfull with one of them. But I realized it needed a better reflection to make it more realistic. My texture is so plain, i need help creating a nice reflection. Notice difference between my custom glass texture on the left and the mohaa texture on the right. You can notice the reflection on the right picture. I just want to make my map better. Its the little things that make maps great.

yes, thanks for the response mj. Also how would i do the window to look more like a mirror. Do i have to set something in the shader?. I want it to be like a mirror but you can still see through it. kinda like this:

You mean you want to see a reflection of yourself or stuff around the window inside the window? Because you said you already figured out how to make a reflection effect using a texture. However you can't make a mirror surface in moh because they removed this mirror thingy from the engine.

i've done this before for a couple of my modern urban maps. create a window texture and shader.

the 'enviro texture' i create from an actual skyline source image that has been faded, the contrast brought done and abscured in some way to give the illusion of light refraction. as long as you have a basic image that shows an abscured faded geometric shape, you'll be ok. this is not where you want to go all out on detail in fact the less you have the better off you are.
