new aa server sound problems

Post by ViPER »

my Spearhead server ran all the SH SP maps without any sound problem - Same with my Breakthrough server running BT SP map.

With the soundfix the AA SP maps works just fine in SH - but a little buggy in BT.

Now with AA server I learn that some weapons dont sound from AA SP maps. Why is that?

Can it be fixed serverside? - or if not - clientside?

Is Spearhead the best place for AA SP maps?

All can be fixed with client side modified ubersound. You know about how to do that don't you? :?:

To a certain extent you can cache sounds with a scriptmaster, but it doesnt work for some stuff, like weapon sounds I beleve. The reason being wepon sounds are played from the client in anim and tik files. Scriptmaster caching will only work for sounds you play from the server.

Sorridstroker did a cunning 'hack'/workaround to make weapon sounds server side by playing sounds on the server using state files. If TMT wasent down I could link to it :/

I did do a fix for this yes :)

and yep the latest version (which was the best) was on tmt and I have no back up :s (unless I can find a copy on my old laptop)

there is an old version on mods-r-us

perhaps ssuk has the newer version.... (I think he downloaded it)

If you ran the AA sp maps on SH yes most weapon sounds would work.... however no footstep sounds would work then lol (I have also fixed this but it's much more complicated..)
