There are not such files. All that's transferred from the server to the client is the serverinfo string.

think they tlk a little more than that:\. server tells the client where everyone is and info on them too:D

what ya after hal?

nothing is hard transferd though im sure somethings are probably transferd in code, wudnt state files run faster on a clients machine ? then send server what state the player is to transfer to the other clients to then blah blah. not that it helps

I was just messing about with extentions, and seeing if the game would load a texture from another file type which isnt a normal extention (.jpg, .tga etc). It kind of works, but then I realised it kind of doesnt... Hmm I can't remember exactly what I did, as I was renaming textures, and loading them into the scoreboard pic with the cvar, but I think it kind of ignores the extention after it is loaded once, so if you change the extenntion it looks like it works, but actualy it doesnt.

Hmm I need some sleep, I can't think properly atm. :\

If you could make a file be transferd to the cilent, then you could disquise an image as that file, and then use that image on a func beam and use it to display a banner or something in your map, but you can't so yeah. :)

Hmm I have some 'fun' scripting to do tomorow, so I think I will get an early night. Hmm 9:30 is too early though :/. Meh

Basicly it is meat & vegetables, in a spicy sauce with rice or potatoes, or nan bread:

a chicken curry:

It came from India and surrounding countries, but became popular here.

Sure, but I meant everything apart from the band packets.

Nope, the server does not send the states to the clients. Just like scripts, they are totally server-side.

And the scoreboard image is stored in a cvar as well, which is passed to the client via the serverinfo string.

states thing are ss yeah i know but wud of thoguht it wud be more profitable for mohaa to send the info , store it in ram or whatever. Then moh server has less to calculate.

no actual files are transferd at all.

Quake engine uses the fat server - thin client model (as opposed to e.g. Cube, which uses the server for synchronisation only - no gameplay code whatsoever is server-side there). All player movement is coordinated by the server, it's quite logical to have it server-side only.
