problem with .min

Post by ViPER »

I have " the Mines " in one of my map paks. Many people get kicked because of some error with the .min file that is generated in the mainta/maps/dm folder.

I have instructed them to delete the .min and then they can come into the game. Next time around however they have the same problem again. So they have to delete the .min everytime they play. This is a problem for those who dont follow directions well and its just a pain.

Any suggestions?

I have heard of random min file errors but not one that keeps reaccureing . Maybe track down what the error is or include a working min file with your maps .

If the file its in is checked for "read only" it will revert back after you leave and come back. You have to uncheck it, fix it, and then if you..they...want, can check it back to read only.

even if a file is read-only when it's deleted, it's gone.

however, .min file errors could be just that, read-only errors... most everything should be read-only. if the .pk3 they're messing with the .min file in (grammar ftl.) is read-only, then theres the problem.

i dont know - I took the .min from my machines maps/dm and put it on the server. As long as my people delete thier .min one last time - this seems to have worked.
