Lighting Compile
The only way I can get my map to compie the light is to set it to bounce 0 and nogrid..........which makes my map look stupid..........any suggestions?
Hmmm well I always use -bounce 0 , to me it makes no real difference in the end lighting effect.flewster wrote:no errors it just locks up............stops altogether........i have let it sit for hours and it does nothing..........when I do the no bounce nad no grid it goes in about 15 seconds
Radiosity lighting can take forever and to me is just not worth the time.
No grid?- never used it.
Post your worldspawn settings, that may help.
This is my first map and it is so frustrating i am rady to quit already........I hav a complete sky box and BSP and VIS do fine but this dang MOHlight hangs up..........in all different places too........the only way to get it to go is to do bounce 0 and nogrid but then the map looks stupid..........Map size is 3120X3120 with a height of about 1000 or so............not large at all an it has several tanks and other vehicles in it along with furnature.......
dont get too frsuterated, like anything that has a professional job associated to it's name it can be a little arcane at times
just takes practice.
although you've already sent it off, try compiling with the light stage in these parameters.
-v -bounce 0 -fast
this is the usual "test-phase" compilation of a map's lighting, quick yet it processes the basics of the lighting enough for you to see them.
It's also entirely possible that your MOHLight is corrupted. try reinstalling the SDK?
also remember your map won't look fantastically lit your first compile either, that would take huge compile times and a lot of adjustment. It'll most certainly look stupid the first few tries.
