i'm trying out this atari city tycoon: new york demo to see if i can crack it, edit it and make it philly. they're using old .pak style files but i can't seem to open them with any .pak extractor i have or can find.

try renaming to .zip or .rar and extracting, a little crude since it may use a different compression style, even slightly, but it ought to work.

i have civ1 installed on the computer next to me, and i still enjoy it. i tried the demo of civ4, but it had a 70 turn limit, which i need not tell you is barely enough to establish basic relations and a couple cities. However it looked sorta cool.
