Selecting holes

Simple situation, simple problem and probably simple answer

Ok, so here we go:

I have load terrain, i want to select only one fragment of terrain where the hole is for putting hole texture (bomb damage on grass for example and big black hole). My question of course is: how to select only one fragment of terrain? plx help me, Thanks a lot

ok well LOD terrain-------> to select one section you simply CTRL/SHIFT/ left click on the section you wish to texture.
