Textures like sunblock and fog

Post by Waylander76 »

There are several textures like this in the 'common' textures the question is how and what are they used for?

Fog is for fog, but how is it used in a map and what effect does it give?

Those two textures do not work. They are left over from Quake 3--the original game engine. But, there are no shaders for them.

However there is a sun blocking texture named "shadow cualk" that can be used to create shadows for entities, like trees, that don't have shadows. Here is an example--white thing on the left.

Fog is done with "Farplane" settings in worldspawn.

Sunblock does work. It blocks sunflares but you can see through it. :)
