Sound to key?

Post by Devil_Dog »

How would I apply a sound to a key? I want to make it so when I press acertain key, as a player it makes a sound. Example: If I press "j" it makes the sound of dogs barking. I want this to happen from player side, like a taunt. I want the other players to here it, on both sides.

I would need to know where to find the sound also. I have DasEnde wich has dogs in it, and the MultiDog mod also, so I could probably get the sound from one of them?

I am running SH, and I have ScriptEdidtor (but haven't used it much).
Thanks for any help!

You could make people bark by pressing the use key, but they would do so when they would be opening doors, using MGs etc. as well. ;)

I wanted to do it so I could bark at people in the game to intimidate them  .

Would be player side (for me) to use as a taunt. I wasn't adding it to a map or anything like that.

what about simply adding it as one of the melee/second attack/bash sounds ? and then changing the line in ubersound ? granted you would have to switch to pistol and then right click.

Thats why I figured to use the sound from one of the single player missions. That way most people would have it already.

How do I make it a "melee/second attack/bash sound" I browsed the tutorials, didn't see it. Sorry. not really good with this stuff, just starting out. Thanks for the help again.

pretty simple, other than skins, it's the easiest mod to do....

create three .wav files (three different sounds for bashing or whatever)
title them :

PistolHit1.wav
PistolHit2.wav
PistolHit3.wav

create folder sound.
create subdirectory inside sound and title it weapons.
create subdirectory inside weapons and title it foley.

place all the above into a .pk3 file.
put your custom sounds in the foley folder.
title it zzzz_whatever_bashsounds.
put into mohaa/main folder.

unless you change your ubersound script for the server, you'll only be able to customize three sounds. double check them because sometimes it gets funky and some .wav files don't seem to work (simply double click on the .wav file in the .pk3 to see if it plays). if , and i don't see why, you have any trouble doing this, email me the three .wav files you want to use and i'll throw it together for you.

HeHeHe...Works! I haven't found the dogs barking sound in MOH files yet, but the toilet flushing sound is a riot on the battle feild. who needs bullets when you can kill 'em all with humor. Thanks PKM!

And keep fishing in the off topic, thats my daily laugh fest.
