At least make sure to open up UDP port 12203 on any firewalls. That's enough for anyone to connect to your server if they know the IP. I don't know what it takes to have your server visible on gamespy or ASE, maybe have a look around @ www.fpsadmin.com or someone here might be able to tell ya :)

your game should automatically make itself available to the game's network, checking "Use Gamespy" should connect it to gamespy, and dedicated server is a more complex process but if you intend to have your server up for any length of time it's necessary.

as JV said open the ports and check fw, if everything's cool then you should see your game on any browser you use.

Keep in mind you need a public IP address or port forwarding to be able to host internet games.

your game WILL be on LAN as well, because it's on the local network as well as the internet. try using a browser and checking for your server name.

Well it kinda helps if you stop crying and try some

It is sometimes said your own server never shows up in gamespy or ase. Ask a friend if he can find your server there.

In ASE, go to server -> add server, enter your info and make it non-private. I think that makes it show up to any ASE user. Dunno about gamespy.
