I think the amount of time is a factor, so me and PKM maybe got the same amount of questions right we had different time frames...I guess.
Oh and PK that same question gave me a time, I drew it on graph paper and the answer was then clear. The one I didn't snap to was....You have zonkers and some are wonkers and fewer are ponkers, diffently ponkers are zonkers. or sometrhing like that. I said true
"all the governments in the world are corrupt and in the hands of the Illuminati"
oh man, i did the same bullshit in german, and when i was done after, let's say three hours of hard brain work, it said something like:
you are an intuitive *forgot the second part, but it didn't sound very intelligent* - if you wanna know your IQ, pay so and so much to this and this site... or w/e...
hell, i dont wanna pay to find out my IQ is somewhere between 82 and 101
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.
Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns ? both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction ? especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.
But hey, English isn't my native language, I don't know the idioms. I guess I've lost quite a few points on them.
The logical patterns were really easy. And what's so hard about the cars? It was a perfect Pythagorean theorem example, took me some 20 seconds to calculate that in my head.

jeezuz if i wasn't allready married.........that attitude right there made my day.

Its because your superior brain is sooo much smarter than anyone elses here. lol
Some people are visual learners that need to see it first. No need to toot your own horn rook
and JV, I thought that it stated the cars started at the same spot and each drove x miles in the opposite directions
C waht i mean philly?

well, I heard that EQ is important these days. EQ is more about real life, I guess.
And IQ is just something that can't be meassured correctly. Some people do the test in 3 hours.. others in 5 mins. Some have better circumstances... hangovers count too and the interest in subjects.
But IQ tests give a nice indication.
I've also made some other tests a while ago. In one test I had 110... In another 150. Now 131... it's just weird..

I didnt say the cars were hard.. I dunno if anyone said 'hard' =p
what I did say is its a typical question because it requires two aspects, visualization and 'book' memory. There are mutiple aspects that could let you down, which is why its something you fidn on IQ tests not geometry tests.
The straight logic questiosn on the first test were way too easy(at least the oens I got - they mostly only included ALL and ALWAYS over the course of a coupel elements, instead of using more varied situations), and the visual logic tests(for the most part) were fairly apparent if its something youve seen before.
When I am king, you will be first against the wall~

i'm all about the visual , my man. you can explain something to me over and over and i'm at a loss but if i see a manual or pull it apart myself, i'm good. then sucks if i have to explain it to someone else. it's why i and website engineers can never work on the same thing together.
i totally agree, there's the logic people who figure stuff out based on what they know, and then there's people who have only been told what to think and do and have no clue what to do if set a task with no "to-do list", like most of hte world. (sadly).
the cars was simple, they were always moving away from each other, so just add...
no complex math involved
Congratulations, Leszek!
that, is the coolest name i've ever heard, including Jeroen. i've GOT to change mine...
uh lizard, if you just added the miles that was the one you missed.
Two cars start off at the same point on a straight highway facing opposite directions. Each car drives for 6 miles, takes a left turn, and drives for 8 miles. How far apart are the two cars?
correct me if im wrong. What would the formula for that look like rook?
"all the governments in the world are corrupt and in the hands of the Illuminati"
lizardkid wrote:you dont add the second 8. you've already calculated that distance...
Ehh not entirely that's just coincidence. Try it with 2 different distances and find the wrong result
The way hogleg shows it is correct, you basically have a triangle with sides 16 and 12 miles. Then the distance of the diagonal:
d = sqrt(16^2 + 12^2) = sqrt((4*4)^2 + (4*3)^2)
= sqrt(4^2 * (4^2 + 3^2)) = 4 sqrt(25) = 20 miles yay
Not that that question would have anything to do with IQ.. I doubt many would come up with the answer had they not learned pythagoras at school (and not had a ruler)
For the cars, the line drawn from both end points passes through the starting pont. So, you have two identical right triangles. It is easier to just figure out one trinagle and then double it.
<-- Pythagorean Theorem
(6x6) + (8x8) = (10x10)
c = 10 miles
10+10 = 20 miles
