I saw this the other day, a walking robot, the article I read was saying that it will be used to carry stuff for troops, it looks really stable even if it takes a hit, theres a link to a video of it on the page:

edit: its so quiet :? you could hear a pin drop

Stick on a head, a tail, and a saddle you'll have a good old Army Mule! Wouldn't it be cheaper to use the real thing? Then again, mules are harder to program, and have a bad habit of running away when the shells start to drop.

Here is of video of it (Runbot) gradually learning to walk more rapidly. I think it is cheating to attach it to a center arm, ha ha!

I wonder if the umbilical cord does make it more stable?

I remember a Honda robot a couple years back, little guy, painted white, could walk up stairs.

I just found a link, he's called Asimo:

asimo is the best robo released to the public, in terms of most things he can do and how smoothly he does them/ he's creepy how he runs and walks, it all looks right but there's something distinctly disturbing about him.

Asimo is taking jobs away for humans now.

I saw the next generation on the science channel. It was taller and had Albert Eienstine's face.

I had this weird idea kinda like trashcanman mentioned those legs might become a future soldier.

I know uav's are operated remotely, imagine a little 4ft tall terminator thing that you can control, just like playing Mohaa, on your pc, its a tough little beast can take shots like the terminator, hyper alloy combat chassis which does not feel pain, or remorse and absolutely will not stop!!!

I would be absolutely brilliant at controlling that thing as im sure all of you would, I read recently how the young guys in the armed forces are super cool with the tech stuff as its like playing a game.

Just a weird thing I thought about.

Edit: I found that mule robot really quite weird to look at, creepy thing, I didnt like it.

when teh gamer's day comes to win the wars, we'll see where JAck Thompson is.

i wont be surprised, already techies are using romote-controlled and camera'd bomb bags to scout buildings, if there's enemies inside they detonate.

bugs

Post by tltrude »

Yeah, that's all we need is an autonomous granade bug robot that will chase us around all day! Of course, by the time they are ready, we will have granade bug hunting robot dog bombs, lol.

I dont mean autonomous bots, we would control them, deploy into wherever, just like we logging into The Bridge, wait for your connection then we are off!!

This is how it will be!

For a while then SkyNet will take over and you all know the rest!

They use LED lights on pretty much all of the signal lights in my city. I would say abou 95 percent of all of signals are with LED lights now. These things are super bright especially in the fog or when the sun is in your eyes.

LED Kid

Post by tltrude »

Lmao, did you see the "World's funniest videos" where a little kid swallowed a flashing led with battery? He lifted his shirt and you could see it flashing in his stomach! His dad, behind the camera, said they were going to see a doctor to remove it. Makes you wonder what else the kid has swallowed!
