Your Favorite Banned/Kicked Experiences!
WARNING!!!
Read only if you have time to waste.
Y'know, for a few weeks now, I've been working constantly on changing Medal of Honor single player. All of my video game time was spent on just modifying single player Allied Assault.
Today, I decided I didn't feel like working on single player. I wanted me some multiplayer! However, this must have been a very crappy day to start playing multiplayer games again.
If I get a serious beatdown in a multiplayer game and I leave the server in frustration, that's okay. I can get over my concept of sucking. However, there's nothing I can't stand more than being banned (or kicked) from a server for all the wrong reasons.
Let me share with you just three of my experiences in being banned/kicked for seemingly no reason in multiplayer games! Two today, one more historical.
Don't be afraid to share yours, as well! As long as they're in the department of you being kicked or banned for stupid reasons from a server.
HISTORICAL BAN
I was playing Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. On BR1, multiplayer games only support 16 players, and each player must host and play in his own game. Bad idea.
ANYWAY, I'm doing pretty good, until this one guy comes out of nowhere, literally in my face (camera), and he does the "spray-and-pray" technique on me. I had a PPSh, however, so MY spray-and-pray worked out a lot better! So I kill him and I'm suddenly banned from the server.
Turns out, the guy I killed was the host and he apparently didn't like being killed. The worst thing is, you can't type in BR1, so I never got to hear (all communication is through headsets) if he had some lame excuse for banning me, or if he just did it in a fit of rage.
TODAY'S BAN
So, I decide that, to start off my multiplayer fun, I'll play some Call of Duty. I join a server where everyone can only die once each round. I was doing an amazing job! I stayed in this one huge building and just ran around, shooting the people I saw outside. I was always the last of my teammates to survive, and I would usually knock off three or four enemies before I died.
The enemy team began to say I was "camping" because they couldn't find me magically standing all over the place- Because, you know, people who aren't all over a map at once are campers- and I kept killing them with ease. Like I said, I was running around in a building. They apparently think that this one building- the only enterable building on the level- is just one big camping zone, even though I was killing them all over the map.
Then I apparently kill the wrong guy, because he says "STOP CAMPING BROADUS", followed shortly by me looking out a window and killing him. On this particular server, players are given three camping "warnings" by the console before they're auto-banned for six minutes.
As I'm running down a street to look for my last victims (unless they got me first, though they never had the chance), the bleeding bag of twats forces the console to give me all three camping warnings in a row so it would ban me. Once again, I killed the wrong person: The tantrum-thrower guy that could ban people that kill him.
TODAY'S KICK
Frustrated with stupid people on Call of Duty, I tried Pacific Assault. I joined a particular server that I used to fancy, because the server forces everyone to walk, so stealth is more promoted than running around in an unrealistic fashion.
The problem with this server is that clan members, who are all given magic kicking/banning powers, are ALWAYS playing, and I'm never on their team for some reason.
On this server, nobody on my team (usually the Japanese) was EVER a medic. This was why my team would lose so often. I, being the only medic, am pressured with the task of keeping EVERYONE alive.
Luckily for me, I was born to be a medic. I always get at least one award at the end of every match- Once, I got three out of four awards! Most Valuable, Most Helpful, and... Most Accurate? Well, I've always been a sharpshooter with the pistol. My definite weapon of choice on Pacific Assault, but a crap weapon on any other game.
Oh, I should have said something about the clan members: They get pissed off when they lose. Seriously. I've been kicked before for the same reasons.
I have to brag that I must be the best Pacific Assault medic of all time, because my team almost always wins. The opposing team often has two or three medics, but they do crappy jobs. I'll run all the way across the map into danger to revive people, but some medics will hesitate to move ten feet to revive someone.
Anyway, unbelievably long story short, they kicked me so I'd stop bringing about their horrid defeat, as I always do. They'll kick you for pretty much anything on that server. I would never play on that server, due to the idiotic children that are given console powers, but it's one out of six servers, being one of the two servers that support more than 16 players.
I hate to brag, but the reason for my Call of Duty ban was one of my best experiences in Call of Duty! I was beating everyone down! I was so proud of myself! Then some disgruntled losers decided that losing to one lone person was just too much. There goes my pride, just so they can gaurantee that they don't get beat down by a so-called "camper".
If a game offers a medic class, that's the only class I'll play as. That's all I'm good at. I can never hit much of anything, so my only goal is to preserve the life of my teammates so thet they can use their abilities to kill. One way or another, I lead to the deaths of my enemies! Isn't that... Gory and terrible? Pacific Assault is the only game I've played that will actually award medics for doing good jobs. Other games award players for getting lots of kills- Not easy to do as a medic.
So, what's today's moral? Never play on a server where people that can ban or kick you are ALSO playing, especially if they're on the other team.
Did you read all of that crap? Really? Wow! Well, come on! I'm sure more people than me have to have some experience with getting banned and kicked by people that hate losing to one person!

i only play moh, and either get kicked for high ping or - "clipping" (i'm usually in the "wrong" team, the goodies never clip, obviously). is "clipping" a reason to get kicked only on that very server i used to like so much? or has anyone of you ever stumbled over that?
*edit* oh and i got banned for talking russian on a server once...

Re: Your Favorite Banned/Kicked Experiences!
You really should try Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, then. I use the same tactics - often sacrifice my own life to revive someone.Broadus wrote:Pacific Assault is the only game I've played that will actually award medics for doing good jobs. Clipping? I never saw anyone getting kicked because of that.
I have actually been kicked myself just 2 times playing MoH - once because I took part in a teamkilling fest
Hovewer, I've got a story to tell.
<some guy> omg, I sooo dont want to play xD
<Rookie One> lol
<Rookie One> then why don't you get outta here
* Rookie One was kicked!
* Server disconnected. Reason: banned by admin.
Weird how some people take things personally.
I was banned from Blockbuster video, it was late on saturday night, all the good movies were already gone so it was taking a while to find something I wanted to watch, aparantly I took too long as the security guard threw me out cos I was acting suspiciously? So im not allowed back in
I mean all the cases are empty so I couldnt have looked like i was about to steal something, not that I am a thief anyway.

Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

i'm not f****** angry, i'm from philadelphia .

Hehe. I was almost afraid nobody would have any unreasonable ban/kick experiences of their own. Though Blockbuster and the local library may not be video games, they're still good stories!
Y'know, I've played Enemy Territory. That was a pretty good game, though if there was a medic award, I sure never got it. I guess the medic is more appealing in Enemy Territory than Pacific Assault because the medic gets a submachine gun instead of a crappy bolt-action rifle.
And I do hate you airstrike guys! And the mortar guys. And all of those other hit-people-across-the-map-in-their-spawn-zone guys. I've never seen anyone banned for being good at airstrikes, though.
I guess it's because my team is the one always being airstriked, and I'm never on the same team as the people that can ban.
Man, I can't stand nothin' more than big, ole' hypocrites. On one server on Call of Duty, this guy who's a regular player on this server was bullcrapping about how he likes "Wheathered players that will switch to the losing side to help it." Then what he does is he gets a big heavy tank and bombs the crap out of my team's spawn point so we just keep dying over and over and he gets enough kills so that he can call airstrikes. So I ask him, "Assface, if we're losing so badly, why don't you switch to our team and help us?"
"Well, that's not what I meant. What I meant to say is that I love being on the winning team and fighting unfairly."
Then I got a warning from the admin because I called assface an assface.
Spawn killers always promote spawn killing when they're the ones not being spawn killed. "It's a perfectly fair part of the game! Stop complaining!" Then the tables will turn and they'll be like "HEY STOP SPAWN KILLING US NUUUURRRR"
You know airstrikes in Call of Duty? What a load of crap those are. People get fifty kills, and they're then rewarded with this unbelievably unfair ability to bomb the crap out of whatever location they please so that they can easily rack up even more kills, and each bomb from an airstrike doesn't just land randomly, but rather is attracted to where enemies are and will give the location away of people trying to hide from the bombs.
Top airstrike locations in Call of Duty are enemy flags in Capture the Flag, and spawn zones in any gametype.
And those bombs never hurt teammates. God, I hate airstrikes.
To make a long post even longer, the level I was playing on when I got banned yesterday in Call of Duty was actually a conversion of Allied Assault's Destroyed Village. Two years of playing that level on regular Allied Assault and getting familiar with the ins-and-outs was probably why I did so good against everyone.

LAst night I was kicked from a Trackmania server lol, I got frustrated on one map cause I couldn't get past this one point so I started driving the course backwards honking a peeps

i've been kicked for prefiring corners where i KNOW there are enemies. by KNOW i mean if they're spamming voicechat or shooting each other. it's a little obvious, so when i come around the corner aiming at the chest and get some kills they start whining... yadayada. long story short i've been banned a lot for playing it smarter than them :\
i was kicked once for asking a server admin why there were more specs than there were living players. (no joke)
[reason: telling the admins how to do their job]
no joke.

PKM has a church!? I WANT TO BE AN ACOLYTE!
You guys get banned for crap I've seen people do that never get banned. I've had two experiences on Breakthrough that I can clearly remember where a player was OBVIOUSLY aim-hacking.
FIRST SITUATION I AM SAYING
In some snow level where everyone's in a town, this guy is instantly aiming and shooting at anyone that moves out in the open, even if they were so far that they were in fog. He would kill three of my allies and, as I walked by a door, he would instantly turn around and shoot at where I was (though I would be past the door by the time the bullets got there).
So I said, "Dude. You're a hacker."
And he gives me that I'm-in-High-School-but-I-can't-spell-a-damn-thing crap saying "NO IM JUS GOOd U SUK LOL" And, as he would type this, he would get off five more kills. The hacking was so obvious, but not a single person said anything about it, even my slaughtered teammates. What kind of crap is that? If I pulled a number like that, I'd be banned in a second.
SECOND SITUATION I AM SEZZING
In a VERY similar situation on an airfield level, this guy gets on an anti-air gun and fires non-stop, aiming at people he can't even see. If someone moved out in the open even slightly, he would start firing at them. I could even be FAR beyond the fog and clipping distance and I would be behind a building. I would move out from behind the building just a little and I'd have flak heading in my direction.
Much like the last guy, I called this guy a hacker and he would type poorly-spelt comebacks that basically related me to being gay and sucking on things. The biggest bullcrap was that he would type all this as he turned to kill people with the anti-air gun.
Would you believe all of the server's clan members were on this guy's team? Go figure.
To give you an idea of their kill/death ratio, it was along the lines of 66/1 for the both of them.
BUT THEY WERENT haCKING THERE JUST GOoD
The aim-hacking was so stupidly obvious, but the hackers didn't get banned. If I got off six kills in a row without dying, I would be banned instantly. Every time I find a server not run by idiots, the server disappears a week later.
But idiot-run servers are forever.
