Cease Fire!

Post by LtNeil »

I have a friendly that runs with me in a mission but as soon as he gets a wiff of nazi he starts shotting at them.
How can i get my friendly to only fire from a certainly distance or at a certain point.

I have tried ajusting his settings (sight.hearing etc) but it does no good

Thanks again for any help

Well, if you want to get him to only fight at certain points, then you should disable his AI, and enable it when you want him to fight.
To get him to fight at certain distances... Well, I'm no scripter, but if you could manage to pull something off, like:

No enemies are in a certain radius of him, so his AI is disabled.
Some enemies pass into the specified radius, so now his AI is enabled.
Once the enemies are no longer in his radius, his AI is disabled again.

I'm afraid I couldn't come up with a literal script for that (if it's even possible, though it sounds like it should be), but if you could, I guess it's an idea.

FOV

I always thought FOV was "field of view" -- how much can be seen to the left and right. It has been a long time sence I played singleplayer, but is'nt there a command in the game to tell your friendly not to shoot? Maybe I'm thinking of a different game.
