with a police action you don't officially have to declare war therefore you can keep the political agenda between the two countries going and also don't receive as much flack from the UN and other countries.

my point was i'd rather see the US clam up and become xenophobic than shove our business to other people...

we've got to watch that, japan and china tried it (japan eventually came around to opening up and china is slowly doing so) but then again, with the world growing ''smaller'' i believe (even though it may not have the best results) a nation can ''clam up'' but still not become ''stagnant'' due to how information is passed in this era ie. the nation isn't ''blind'' to events, introductions & progressions outside the borders

hijack it all you want, i basically started this thread as a joke response to an image i saw. maybe it's good that we rap about this. hell, we need to show rook how to open his mind and question authority (the correct way) , i'm starting to worry about him, have you seen the clothing styles he's been wearing lately, how he wears his hair ? hell the other day we had to ask him to leave the service at the church of me because he had a on a shirt that said '' God hates PKM '' .

thats what i'd prefer to see, the US sort of back off the "we pwn j00 dunt f*ck wit us11!!1" sort of bulldog mentality, even if we can. we've been bullying countries around for what? like 50 years now? time to give it a rest and work on the secrets of the universe instead of a new way to incinerate an Iraqi from 500 miles? i'm all for explosions and precision bombing but it's getting a tad old, can't the US just leave well enough alone?

eh just my idea... if the US was less of a "we will find you, your family, your friends, your dog, everyone you've known, everyone who sold you land, and everyone who knew about you" and more of a "lets just look at Quantum Physics" i think it'd be a bit better. let the rest of the world start the wars for once. (yes i'm well aware of the African and South American wars, i meant superpowers)

What he said, that I disagree with is that Americans would do those jobs if payed more. In what kind of fantasy world are these jobs going to pay more? Although the immigration issue does split parties a bit, the majority of people who claim these jobs could be done by americans, also believe in capatilism, and pretty much despise socialism. So how do you expect to carry off the arguement that these jobs would be filled by Americans given those two circumstances? The jobs are very low on the wage scale for a reason in a capitalist society. They will not suddenly pay more, and therefore are not in high demand by Americans.

As for SUV's and the like, what am I supposed to pity some guy who puts 100-200$ a week in gas into his hemmy because he drives an enormous truck which gets used once a month for practical 'truck' reasons? America loves big automobiles, I means thats not even argueable... its part of our lifestyle, which is very high end. You cant expect low tier jobs to pay up to that lifestyle, and you cant expect Americans to swarm to menial jobs for low pay. There is no scenario in which suddenly the majority of these jobs will start paying well, and provideing good benefits, so they will never be desireable positions.

Yeah, a lot of "jobs" today have to be done by convicts for cheap, easy and legal labor. At my High School, only one janitor is actually working for the school, and all of the other "janitors" are convicts that are just switched out every day (or is it week?).
I hear dead animal and litter pickup is really a booming field for Americans, today! Darn those illegal immigrants for stealing such beloved jobs.

splae what part of where ever in america are you from ? i'm trying to figure out what your stereotype of american's and their cars derives from. i'm here in texas where you'd think they'd all have big gas guzzlers and i think i've seen maybe two hummers (gotten a few though har har har har) most people i know drive mid sized sedans.
