Yo! Time to dig up this thread again . As you've probably guessed by the mess of accounts, Tim and me are staying together atm. We've been away for two days to the mountains (of Switzerland) and thought you might like to see some pictures of that...
nope, no salty lake, it's an artificial one... there's two of those lakes which are connected: they let the water down from the one above to the second one to produce energy (at night they pump it up again - with cheap electricity *how stupid is that*). The mountains' names are Grimsel and Oberaar (that's where we stayed)

Despite what it appears, it's not stupid at all. They are called 'peak power plants' and their purpose is to reinforce the power network during the peak of electricity usage. They run and produce additional power during the day, and the water is pumped back at night when overall power usage is smaller.
Although there must be a better solution for this that doesn't require electricity consumption.
