is gensurf the same as easygen ?

As I recall, Easygen creates a mesh based terrain that has a pretty high polygon count. I don't remember if it is compatabile with MOHAA mesh format. Gensurf creates pretty low poly count brush based terrain that works with any Q2 - Q3 based engine. It's not as pretty, but doesn't have a big performance impact.

EasyGen creates the terrain out of brushes. It does work for MoHAA maps if you turn off the fancy alpha map shaders.
And after importing to Radiant you have to retexture it yourself.

i believe i used easy gen for my battlelinc map. like rook said you have to texture yourself once in radient .
i'm not f****** angry, i'm from philadelphia .

That wouldn't matter to me. I wind up changing textures or creating new ones 4 - 5 times, on every terrain.
