A song I made! :P

I first drafted it first a year ago, then it had been lying around my hard drive for ages,

until a couple of days ago when I decided to refine it and finish the missing parts. A little recording session today and it's ready.

Resistance Infutile - it's called Wake (vocals are yet to come).

I think that's my first composition I can be proud of.

What do you think?

not really my style, a bit intense and repetitive. The base is a bit distorted on my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 so I know its not on my end.

maybe after you add the vocals etc....

not my style at all. but well done none the less. I was under the inpresiont that songs are made by writing the lyrics first, then the music comes afterwards to match the lyrics.. but meh, maybe im wrong with that kind of music.

@Hog: yeah, it clips a lot (drum soundfont's fault - need to find a better one) and the mix is sucky (hey, I'm a musician, not a sound engineer!

learning mastering might turn out to be a must, I'm afraid

Yeah, you were wrong then.

I must admit that in general, the song sucks technically.

I need to work on my guitar skills a lot.

songs start with the composer dinking around on a melodic instrument until he finds a riff or solo he likes, then the rest of the song is crafted around it, it's a purely spontaneous process. which is why almost every song has a guitar solo on the bridge of it.

if the lyrics were first it'd be rap.

Not too bad... I can hear a few spots where you edited it and it cuts to another part maybe try and blend it a bit.... i like it alot.... good music can i put it on my myspacE? is that alright?

Yup, I've got some more on my old DMusic account, but they're rather sucky.

Really it sounds cut? Where? Could you tell me the timings?

I swear I played it as a whole from the start to the end.
