F.E.A.R. Multiplayer free download

Post by At0miC »

The multiplayer part of F.E.A.R. (renamed to F.E.A.R. Combat) is since today available as a free download for everyone. However, the wait time has been expired now but I can't see any download yet. I guess it will be on soon =).

Features: 10 Multiplayer Game modes, 19 Multiplayer Maps, 12 different weapons, Punkbuster support or anti cheat support, the capability to download user generated content.

F.E.A.R. singleplayer was quality, one of the best experiences i've had. Plus that engine is incredible, dynamic bumps? actual shockwave simulation? and it all handled smoothly, could be the best engine out there atm.

I tried the MP demo, played it for some 30 minutes and uninstalled. It was crap for me.

IMHO the Doom 3/Quake 4 engine outruns FEAR, all it's missing is parallax instead of bump mapping.

oh yes Q4 definitely outperforms F.E.A.R., much smoother, but most of that relies on the mapper. you would not believe how drastically important caulk becomes on that game.

i liked F.E.A.R. too though, it had a fuzzier, less natural look. as if you were in a dream, it gave the perfect setting to abandoned facilities and such. plus the particles and effects were handled excellently, gave it a ravaged sort of feel to any room you have a fight it, don't know why but i love debris and smoke.
