DM default weapons

Post by ernst »

i have searched to the best of my abilities and have come up short, i have seen similar posts regarding this but none have helped....

in a DM game, when the player selects their weapon they are automaticly given the PISTOL and GRENADES by default. is their a way to add another weapon ie the shotty. So if the player chooses STG44 they will also get the pistol, nades AND the SHOTTY??

I thought you could only add the silencedpistol.tik to the script files. Any other weapon, ( shotgun ), couldn't be added that way.

To get the silenced in, add it to the part where you can adjust the amount of grenades, and have the binoculars.

You were wrong, then, Neillomax. ;)

If you couldn't find it, you didn't try hard enough. I just searched for 'weapons' and got this.

1.) That doesn't go in the tik file. Yes, I know how to give and take weapons when using the map script. He was asking something else.

2.) I can't use the search function on this site. It doesn't work for me. Probably has something to do with my machines security, I don't know, and I'm not going to work around it to find out. If I ask a question thats been asked 100 times, I hope somebody will answer it for the 101st. Newbs would benefit from that also. If I see a question that was already asked, and if I think I can answer it, I will.

Ad. 1. Show me the bit of his post where he asks anything about TIKIs, please.

Ad. 2. I was addressing ernst.

Watch it, Neil. It's not the first time you talk to someone here like that, and being harsh and arrogant will at most earn you a ban.

wow....didn't mean to start a problem...

i should be more clear...

rookie i thank you for your post, i have read that post and if i understood it correctly i would have to add that to each maps script? or just create a global script for it??

to clear up exactly what i am looking for....

when you join a server after you select your team you then select your weapon. whichever weapon is chosen your are given the PISTOL and GRENADES by default.

that is what i would like to have altered so that the SHOTTY is standard issue as well.

if it has to be done map to map, thats cool....but if a global script is required thats cool to.

i just wasnt sure if there was a script in mohaa already that sets this...for example the mike_torso.st to take out the bolt action on the kar...prolly a bad example but i hope i cleared up all this mess

you can do either method, ernst. the easiest way to do it would save that script(the last one rook posted in the thread linked) as a global script and then exec it from each map script; as so.

Code: Select all

exec global/scriptName.scr
after the level waittill spawn. That way they will be equipped with a shotty every time they respawn ;)

neil you need to be a bit more calm, flying off the handle at other people for your misinterpretation is not a good idea. Rereading the question may help too, as you seem a little confused about what he was after.

Don't worry about the tad of drama, ernst. It has to happen now and again :P
