Jericho

Post by Rookie One.pl »

I've just seen the second episode of this post-nuclear drama and I must say I'm impressed. The first episode got me hooked. I loved the scene where the mushroom cloud appeared - the music was already telling something happened and quickly built the tension. I was already feeling quite nervous, and then the kid went to the roof and saw the nuclear blast over the mountains.

It's quite thought-provoking, makes you see how fragile our world is and realize that the nuclear threat is still present. Direct strikes in the case of the US, especially on midland cities like Denver, are a rather unrealistic scenario (you have the anti-ICBM shield, don't you?), but still... Man, it gives me thrills. I want those plans of expanding the anti-rocket shield to cover Poland to come true.

We are already up to episode 10, here in the USA, and the bomb was not delivered by rocket!

By the way, our Star Wars Program was canceled when the USSR threat went away.

don't download it, go to CBS.com , find jericho and they have all the full episodes up to date to watch via Realplayer

that's how i got hooked. intended to watch it from the begining but got sidetracked and missed all the initial episodes. spent sunday monday and tuesday of last week catching up for last weeks episode (chute drop) before realizing that now i have to watch the show with commercials and dammit to hell, next week is the cliffhanger which means reruns until next year .

Another good Scifi TV show to get, Rookie One.pl, is "Heroes".

CBS restricted their Innertube to US only. Besides, Realplayer is crap (poor quality and adware).

Nope, they're not going to rerun it, there's some other show to come instead. Same thing ABC did with Lost.

it gives you a choice for WMP or RP.

thats cool, i didnt know they would post whole eps on the site for streaming. beats my honor code against piracy and i still get it without cable. win-win!

EDIT: Very cool, interesting the obstacles and how they face them. the fallout rain was a cool idea.

the quality was surprisingly well even at fullscreen/theater mode. granted i sat on my office couch (about 5' away) sorry to hear it's for the us only. maybe try right clicking on the link using FF and then attempting to download direct using the View Page Info/Media tab.

Nope, they have IP-based identification. It can be easily bypassed using a proxy server, but I just can't be arsed. ;)

I love the soundtrack, especially the one that kicked in when the cloud first appeared. :)

I'm kind of disappointed, after like the 6th episode it turns into a dramatized soap opera. Sure there's plenty of cool stuff like Rogue River and stuff, but half of it at least is this guy trying to tell this girl that.

Lots of potential but they seemed to have run out of go for it. the fallout was a great idea, the sick guy, everything. but they gave you all the secrets and now it's just some soppy daytime show. Haven't seen Red Flag yet, but i sure hope it puts more mystery into the show. first four eps were awesome, they got nuked, were in the dark, had people they didnt know they could trust all around them, highway bandits, all good stuff.

we'll see.

cell phones

Post by tltrude »

The kids using cell phones as baseballs was kind of cool! -- I hate cell phones.

I think someone should send a copy of "Alas Babylon" (p. 1959) to the writers. Its a classic "post apocalypse" book. It ends, in affect, with these words, "Who won the War?"

"We did... not that it matters."
