what is it that some maps you can float spec right out of the box and into the void and some throw you back to info_start when you get near the edge ?

That would be some funny behaviour. Normally you would get further and further until your origin numbers start wrapping, which basically throws you to the very other side of the map.

Ah..... so small maps you can spec the void and if you exceed coords +/- 8100 or whatever it wraps you to the other side?

Lol. Nope. ;) Wrapping would occur at 3.4 * 10 to the 38th or -38th power. :) That's due to the nature of binary calculations.

I guess this is some random engine bug.
