Server Crash

Post by Cobra »

Hi Guys,

I have a little problem with my MOHSH server. I had a enoying sound alias error before what was missed in the ubersound.scr. I packed the official ubersound and uberdialog.scr in a pk3 and I dont have that crash error anymore. But there is another main problem, proberly very small but enough to get my server offline.

I run the Basebuilder mod and I have log my server with Developer 3 and Logfile 1. The result is below, I have upload the Qconsole.log, personly I dont see a problem what the source can be. the quake engine have alot of errors in console, but theres one what can be the problem.

Please, can somebody help me out or help me a bit, or even look at it?

It will be much appreciated!!

Wow that is 1 dam big file lol. There are alot of console errors from that bb mod. But I think the crashing is from the client buffer full error. Are you running foresight. If so maybe delete the foresight pk3 and see if the server still crashes. If it does try removing the bb mod and see if that helps. Kick the 999 pingers. Maybe thats why that buffer error comes up, although im not sure thats the reason.

Is "basebuilder" ment for SpearHead? I know nothing about it, except it seems to be having problems with smoke grenades.

Basebuilder is a fun modification. You can build with many objects in a kind of buildtime, after the time has ends. You can play in the map, where you have build, within the objects. ( Around 150 in our server ). Its nice to try it out btw, fun is the inportants thing.

JoeyC, I dont run Foresight anymore, and I got a FPS crash fix, what protect the Bufferoverflow crash.

The things what I had when the server was crashed is:

Blackbart FPS Crashfix.pk3
Basebuilder.pk3

And indeed tltrude, a weapon.pk3 what I have made so, that you dont have smoke in the server. It creates alot of lag.

I also have a overwrited gamex86.dll, also from Blackbart.

Much appreciated that you guys will help me, because Im tired now. Its a randomly crash, not special a time or map. Here are my fixes:

my_serverfixes.rar

For me, the weirdest thing is that the qconsole ends with no crash error..

To explain it more closer. I cant find any error in the Qconsole, because the crash is very random and suddenly. It is completly outside the game self, as far as I read the server logs.

It is a Windows XP Application error

moh_spearhead_server.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, stuck module: moh_spearhead_server.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, stuck at: 0x000255f1.

Application Error - Send or Do not send message.

Anyone can give me a advice, or even what can be the problem?

Thanks!

"stuck module", almost sounds like an infinite loop to me. MOH ends scriping infinite loops if they go on too long, so it sounds to me like it could be a corrupt .exe file or something.

All speculation, but maybe try reinstalling it on the box and trying again? MOH is a very stable program, so if it's crashing to windows during normal usage it's a reinstall case.

Try to take out your mods first, though. If the server runs fine without them it's an issue with one of those.

That's all i can think of. Good Luck!

Ok thanks mate, I will try that out first. If it is not working at all, I will install the Linux box.

Nah, that's certainly not an infinite loop. These errors happen when pointers get f**ked up and the program tries to read from or write to a memory location it doesn't have access to.

Are you using any proxy game DLLs like Elgan's mohfillfix?

I use Elgans Admin Pro indeed. But I have try without it and many different ways but still the same result. The weirdest thing is that the crash is sometimes very short after eachother, sometimes not.

I have also overwrited the gamex86.dll file, to fix the reload bug and leave team, and the FPS Crash fix but can this be the problem? I also run Basebuilder, but I dont think thats the source too.. I really dont know what to do, but it looks intresting what youve posted here, you said that he cant read a piece what he cant read, I have switch the memory sticks, but nothing special.
