remove terrain

Post by ViPER »

Can lod terrain be removed by script. I made it a script_object but wont remove like brushes. I have a work around but would be cleaner if i could just remove it.

No, it can't. LOD terrain is kept in a separate BSP lump, it's not a brush, it can't even be turned into an entity of any kind.

you could make a giant patch mesh and make it an entity and go from there. Although patches are dramatically less efficient than LOD.

Actually... can you? i know you can in Q4, but are they stored as geometry no matter what entity to make them?

Yes you can I did a mod once where I made a patch of grass over a crater . After an explosion the patch was removed to show the crater .
