how do i get sound on my map?

hey im a newbie mapper and need to know how to get sound on my map......nothing fancy just reg sound like walking and guns shooting and stuff......im making one now and testing as i go to make sure everything works but i have no idea how to get stock sounds in there......i didnt see any tutorial about it so any help would be appreciated...thx alot.....also all i have for my map when i try it is a bsp file and a min file......it works and runs fine but no sound

Put the bsp in maps/dm and test it in multiplayer. If you want to just keep it in maps, you'll have to change the name like this.

maps/test_mymapname.bsp

But, if you go multiplayer, it will have sound and weapons.

maps/dm/mymapname.bsp

thanx alot man....glad to hear its something that easy :D ....now if i could just figure out the dang doors i'de be in business lol

Tazz, there's no programming involved (yet). All there is to do is build ur door brushes, turn them into a func_rotatingdoor and give it its angle key/value. Piece of cake :wink:

hehehe for u maybe i tried but the hinge is what keeps getting me i can make the door and make it func_rotatingdoor but then u have that hinge thing on the side of the door it says put it on the wall beside it..but when i do it dont open lol....right now i just make autoopen then it slides to the side rofl...thx alot for all yall's help though....i am getting the hang of it i think lol

the hinge thing :? if u were talkin about the origin-brush, then there was not much problem. That brush simply defines by its center the point (talkin in 2D :wink: ) the door will rotate around. It must not only exist but also be part of the func_rotatingdoor. So, select the door brush(es) AND the origin brush together and turn this selection into a func_rotatingdoor. Voil
