i have read just about everyone window post i can read and the tuts on the windows but i cant seem to find a way to make a regular window.....the tuts just do the break thru and climb thru but i just want one that u can see thru and thats it...not break or climb thru or any of that just a regular see thru window...any help would be greatly appreciated......thank ya's
I think I used a glass clip when I tried that. ( glass caulk texture if you know what I mean ) Can't really see the glass, but it's there. Don't hold me to it though.
The .map file is included, so you can just copy whatever you want. If you don't want them to be breakable, just select all the parts of one and go to Selections > Ungroup Entity.
Textures > Windows > Windowframe1 is a see-thru texture. If you click on the menu button with an "A", you will see thrugh it in radiant.
well i tried one of the other windows that is in the wooden foyer with the crates but still i put it in and hit func_window then hit window in that spot and it sets spawnflags 1 then save and cimpile and i can still break the window....the other one i tried there was no window just half a frame i guess it was broken window and just looked right in the textures box
With window selected, hit "s", goto nodamage........... or hit letter "N", bring up entity inspector. In the upper of the two little boxes at the bottom type health and hit tab. In the bottom little box type 10000 hit enter. Deselect brush, ( window ). Glass should have 10,000 health and should take one heck of a beating b4 breaking.
thx for all the responses but i just made my entire window frame then just put glass over the whole thing so now it looks like a window but not a window func or texture its just wood slats with glass over it......just has no glare in it but hey one step at a time lol
you might try useing clip brushes too for example a wood clip around the frame will make it sound like wood when shot there is a glass clip too I think .
