ip blocking at the server level

Post by grizzly »

We are running Windows server and are being flooded and otherwise pestered by hacks, foul names etc. We would like to block an entire range of ip's to prevent them ever getting through. Any ideas on how to do this?

you'd need to contact your server managers and tell them the information, then they should be able to block the range at a router level.

But if they don't do that, your best bet is either CI (Counter Intelligence) or Foresight. Ban the ranges with those programs, it wont stop the people from actually connecting, but it will kick them within a minute or two.

I am looking for the main server answer here. I know the Linux code to accomplish a range ban but not the Windows answer. I am speaking about the main server level, not one of the users levels. Foresight etc are just as ineffective at this as autokick or any other anti cheat applied at a user level.
