help with elevator waypoints

Post by erick »

In my map i have an elevator that goes from one floor to the other (it isnt really an elevator it is just a simple scripted object that goes up, waits 5, and then comes back down, operated from 3 triggers (one inside, one on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd floor)

the problem is that when i get in the elevator and use it the elevator seems to shift just a little so that one of the walls disappear completly and another starts fading out

could someone tell me how and where to place the waypoints
(everthing else works fine)
thanks

The waypoints have to be dead on in the center and exactly above each other . Look in the 2d view top view and make sure they are exactly above each other . Then you have to make sure that they are at the center of the elevator . If the elevator is shifting then they are not . If you can maybe do it a different way . If you know how far the elevator need to rise then make a script that just moves the elvator up by that amount and forget about the waypoints . Another altenative is the easy elevator script at my site . It only works with one elevator but includes doors that open and close at top and bottom .
