help with patrols

Post by erick »

i have this patrol guy that has a route that is like 8 pathnodes long but when i just connect the guy to the 1st pathnode and the pathnodes to each other the map doesnt load
it says something like
"possibility for infinite loop" and it mentions one of my pathnodes

but when i script the patrol route then the guy goes on it and everthing works

I was wondering why my map crashes or if someone could tell me how to get the patrol times perfect that would be great :D
(in patrol times i mean something like this)

$guard walkto $guard1(this is my pathnode)
wait 3
((is there a way to use like waitmove or a different command))

the pathnodes target each other with the last one targeting the first one . Make sure they are not too far apart and that there are normal pathnodes in between if they are . Set the guys type_idle to patrol and use the targetname of the first pathnode as his patrolpath . Select the guy in radiant and press i to get the ai menu .

I used your suggestion and added some normal pathnodes and now everything works good.
I thought that my nodes were already close enough but i guess not
