TUT! What next?!

Post by Ophisâ„¢ »

Now this, i find incredibly annoying.
A computer game which appears to feature a CCTV image of the 1993 abduction of murdered toddler James Bulger is being withdrawn from sale.
Firstly, make sure you have read this (unless you already know about it because you seen it on the news like me

I must say, How Ironic is the British media on this Jamie Bulger case?! I watched a special news report on BBC News 24 and the reason for them taking it off the shelves IS NOT the violence, but the fact the mother of James (the murdered kid "briefly" featured on the game) is complaining that they should not be allowed to show the small cctv video clip without her permission, granted thats fair enough in my books however, THIS SAME cctv video clip i saw and was repeated 5 more times while they were talking about the game being pulled off the shelf for this very same reason.. i mean, WTF? did the media get permission to play the tape but the game didn't?

LMFAO, all i can think of, is that the woman wants to blame games for her sons death so showing the last moments of her sons death is a crime on a game, but not on National Television. So now rather then the hundred thousand who see it because they buy the game, millions have seen it on tv! lol. If someones crazy enough to kill someone else, thats what their going to do, with or without a computer games influence.

How fucked is that.

i've said it before and i say it again; people cannot come to grips with the root of their problems, and therefore blame games, internet, movies, music, whatever.

The root is usually bad parenting, bad education, and the blame-game. You can pretty much attribute any claim that games are "destroying out society" to one of those conditions.

Remember how they tried to blame Columbine on Doom? How they tried to blame Virginia Tech on CS when he didn't even play it? Same deal. Jumping to conclusions without understanding.
