This thread cracks me up
I see it getting a bit pedantic, even down to was it meant to be an "A" or wasnt it ?
Marine my fellow countryman, no point bitching about friendly fire incidents, happens all the time, and how many British died in Iraq during this war from enemy fire ? 28 I read earlier ! So seems to me our American cousins are taking a lot of the fire instead of our boys, 1000+ Americans so far. I feel we owe them some kind of debt for that.
American cousins, Great Britain is a stalwart of power in Europe and indeed the world. Always has been always will be ( hopefully). I read much earlier in the thread about the attack on New Orleans, maybe we lost a battle, and indeed the war. At the time Great Britain was in control of two thirds of the entire globe, the Greatest Empire in History
I often wondered how we let the USA go, I imagine we had bigger fish to fry in India, China etc...
I like to think that we let it go as really it wasnt too much different to a civil war, our own brothers and cousins fighting eachother. It was a serious war but not so serious that Britain would neglect our other fingers in all the other pies around the globe. We knew we could work with you guys after the cease of hostilities, and now at this point in time, where are we ?? Seems the most staunch allies against a hostile world
