lol, i know the irish v. well.

my best m8 is Irish. i have nothing against the irish. but just how barbaric and thick the IRA are:

they have different groups of IRA milita. and instead of grouping together and creating a devestating attack, they fight among themselves instead, when they all want the same thing.

i can understand ppl who want catholic/protestand arguing etc. i do understand the situation there, and it is very complicated.

but UK would give NI to Ireland but they can't, cos NI wanna stay with UK!

and we are there sorting it all out! :?

The IRA is a despicable terrorist organization.

But like it or not, the problems in that area are due to a long and cruel history of english rule.

I never been there, but your not gonna tell me the pgues were liring to me?!?!?

lol jk...

no really... pogues aside, all the tales of how ebgland have brutalized ireland and the irish arent fiction. This goes back to the empire. Just because your country suddenly wants out of a part of a situation it has done alot to create, doesnt mean you cna just pull up stakes and leave the barbarians to kill each other.

oh wait... thats what we want to do in Iraq!!!

Well I'm happy to say the worst of the problems in Northern Ireland seem to be over.

Yep it was all caused by British invaders no denying that.

Realistically there was never any chance of the British population moving out, so 30 years of terror was the way it was dealt with, they should have sat down and talked in the first place.

It would be criminal to pull out and let chaos reign, equally so in Iraq, though in Northern Ireland seeing as my fellow countrymen live there I am more convinced that we couldnt pull out and let the barabarians kill eachother, in Iraq I must say I dont care if they choose to kill eachother.

Its really none of our business.

I think people and nations should finish what they start.

I think exit strategy is a stupid word(ok combination of words) when there is less stability in the region now, then there was 2 years ago.

But thats just me, and I get called liberal alot. I guess the conservatives consider there jobs done once they drop the bobms =p

lol no seriously, most of america seems to be in favor of pulling out, at least as many as were in favor of going in... its all wierd to me.

i dont see why so many americans want to pull out! If we pul out, well get more in-country terror because the terrorists will know we will only make a short war, pull out, and live happily until another terrorist strike comes, we go into anopther war, pull out again, and the whole cycle will keep going and going! Look, everybody was being patriotic after 911 and then as some(not trying to sound rude and disrepectful to the desceased in ANY WAY when i say ''a few soldiers fall'') soldiers begin to fall, the public was wanting to pull out after the first few died(again im not trying to sound rude, disrespectful). WHAt about in world war tow! about the whole US was partriotic! you didnt see people rallying at the white house with picket signs say ''pull out of europe''! im just disgusted by these people wanting to pull out. its a sort of like saying ''i dont care how many forign soldiers have or will die! JUST GET THE COUTRY OUT OF THE WAR''

well theres my opinion.

What about Vietnam? Shouldn't have been there in the first place, fighting a losing cause, so pulling out was the smartest thing done over there!

So pulling out is smart both in losing causes and avoiding pregnency

I agree they both are good ways of maintaining an illusion of responsibility

yes it was caused by us - god knows how many years ago!

but there is no doubt that the current government, even that of 1970's, would have happilly pulled out of NI and given it to Ireland if the NI people wanted that. but it would have caused mor violence really.
