Don't forget that patch/LOD terrain collision detection sucks in general, especially at the bends (?), where you can, at an appriopriate angle, shoot a projectile through it.
get's annoying on Hunt when you're the last rocketeer and there's a mad pistoleer running dead at you and your rocket straight underground.
i htink it's because it's triangulated, so you're going to have a lot of holes if the tris dont connect properly...
your best option is to put flat caulk brushes underneath the LOD in blocks so things like grenades and rockets will still blow up reasonably clsoe to the surface.

As I said before, u must not cut a hole in ur skybox's bottom brush. U will have to build a seperate layer with that hole inside ur skybox:
This image is 2d of course, u'll have to do it 3d
For the vanishing LoD, try to 1st check Filter ALL and then uncheck it again. This makes sure, really no filter is active

Hey, thanks a lot for that one! This might help to feel less scared of LOD and patch mesh . No, honestly, I didn't dare use those as very (!) strange things happened to my map when I put LOD/patch stuff in it...
Sacred? I guess it's gonna take a lot of time till I'll be able to manage those... I tried some things but after a while I lost orientation and had to give up... Is there a tut on how to use patches? I reall can't imagine what "sic stuff" I could do with that... (I think I once tried to make some rocks, but, as I said, failed very soon )
