Most of ya'll don't remember but to me it's a lot like the VCR format war between beta max & VHS.

Beta was smaller, better quality and held more data but VHS won because of the corporate politics involved. Basiclly better poker players.

Bill outplayed Steve, thats the only reason why most of us have never even tried a mac

beta also took a lot more power from what i understand, right?

Well, compare the two. Find a game like NWN which supports Mac and PC. Run it by both of them with roughly the same specs.

I would bet you a lot of money PC would be able to outperform.

I've nothing against iPod or anything like that, i've never used one anyway, it's mainly their Macs that i hate, just because people try to flaunt them as better.

interesting... so betamax was actualy better? I was young, so all we knew was no one had beta's cause vhs was dominating the market. I just figured at the time cause they were better. Tho using that analogy for pc wars as an older person, I realize how naive an opinion that was. heh there is an old movie with kim bassinger and val kilmer... his apartment is filled with beta's and she says... 'what do you ahve all those for everyone uses vhs' and he replies... 'not in japan, its huge over there' or something to that affect...

I couldnt even guess which system is 'better' at the moment... but I firmly believe that half a decade ago or so, apple was a better product, but simply nothing ran on it, making it unviable for most people. Its like Unix/linux vs windows in a way... people swear by it, but have to resort usualy to splitting there hard drives to use it, simply because there are some things that just dont function right without windows OS.
