what is elgbot?new bot in coming soon??
What is that somebody else than JV can make the BOT?

I tried to put bots2 on obj / team2 but his do not work! :(
I sees them who connects, but no characters nothing somebody could try ? :?
Or to find craftiness to cross(spend) JVbot1 in BOT2 without making of big modification? :wink:

Well, if you look at teh code Jv's made, you'll understand why nobody can finish it, it's probably the most complex code ever designed for MOH.

elgbot was a joke sorry nm.

i dont think any1 has time to finish them expecialy jv.

its always hard to work out someoen elses code and add to it. Expecialy if its complicated:D

I can,the code of the bots is very complex, but the new version of the bots is really cool, why not to finish it?

JV lives in in Netherlands, he owes etre in vacancy? Can etre will have you he the time(weather) to finish this version and show us how to make maps with them bots2 and who knows how to transform maps JVbot01 in bots2?

It's not so much that it's complex, as that it's also got just about every command in it, he redid the animation code, the thinkers, everything. Everything that was stock MOH AI was altered somehow, the usual commands dont work, i'm not even sure he documented it.

It is that it's very complex :( In my current version there's so many work-arounds it's not even funny.. :?

Like lizard said everything is custom now.. literally everything including navigation and collision detection. The advantages are obvious, with proper navigation across ladders and tight paths, and things like crouch paths and jump paths are possible now. Another cool thing is bots can calculate 'sneak' routes, allowing them to plot a route around you unnoticed 8-).

However stupid little things in mohaa like not even being able to aim up or down :evil: , unable to lean, sighttrace not working against transparent objects :( (including the forest borders in the hunt and the stairways in v2), very scarce information of the map available in script (via a very complicated work-around I can now finally tell just where the doors are :? ) and so many more things, as well as scripts inevitably becoming very very slow when they actually have to do something have motivated me to discontinue the project :(

I'm thinking of releasing my latest more-or-less working version just for thrills... it has way too many issues to be a real release or an improvement over the 1.1 bots but you'll notice the effort that went into it and the enormous amount of work still needing to be done...

Then I'll withdraw fully from the bot project, anyone interested may try to take it over but honestly it seems like a mission impossible to me now :(

Jv: do you have path files set up for all the MP maps? ( just thinki of a future idea)

I have bots2 path files for obj_team1 and obj_team2, cheech made all mohaa obj maps compatible with bots 1.1 :)

they use different paths:S.

ok.hehe im sure if i ever get round to doing it there will be some paths somewhere to allow some AI dudes to walk arround. They wouldnt need to do anything else.

bots2 might be fun to play around with once i learn how to use them, but if they're that hard to work with :cry:

so what part deals with bot logic? i'd like very much to be able to use jump, crouch and sneak paths. right now i have to manually set up ambushes that are very linear and happen the same way, as opposed to many of the newer games that have AI that will actively look for such routes. (HL2, BF2, PA(?) etc)

and where the script Who edite that the bot put themselves squat and advance(move)?
it possible to implant the line in the bot1.1 or update?
