copy the sky i set up in the basic.map file i linked above. then highlight any of the wall brushes (the ones made of brick or stone, doesn't matter) and then hit the 'n' key to bring up your entity window. you'll see the simple keys and values i had set up for that map. it's the four sided box with a top (no bottom) sitting on top of the exterior walls. adjust them to surround your map. if you lose the texture on transfer i used the lighthouse texture found in sky. only apply the sky texture to the insides of the box.

i think they were:
  • "sunlight" "35 34 35" <--brightness of your sky light
    "sunflarename" "none" <--wether you have a visible "sun/moon" in your sky
    "sundirection" "270 90 0" <--where your "sky light" source orginates
    "ambientlight" "10 10 10" <--brightness of objects (textured brushes/faces) not sky

    granted, these are very simplified explanations
