that i know, i meant in creating a custom railing texture
how to you make the part that becomes transparent.

I know mohaa has a 'black' that disappears, or should you in creating of the texture leave parts transparent

I think, although I am not entirely sure, that you need to create an alpha channel in the texture or something like that. I don't know how to make it though so someone else will have to fill you in.

Yes in photoshop you add an alpha channel and make the parts you want to show white . Then you need to make a shader for it . Look up one of the shaders for a window that will help you make the shader .

As bdbodger said, just break the top rail into smaller segments and it will be fine as is. Do the same for long ladders.

Also, if the rungs or posts are smaller in width than the rails, you wont have that problem.

If you are going to do that don't forget to make the railing detail not structural .
