As I recall, Easygen creates a mesh based terrain that has a pretty high polygon count. I don't remember if it is compatabile with MOHAA mesh format. Gensurf creates pretty low poly count brush based terrain that works with any Q2 - Q3 based engine. It's not as pretty, but doesn't have a big performance impact.

EasyGen creates the terrain out of brushes. It does work for MoHAA maps if you turn off the fancy alpha map shaders. :) And after importing to Radiant you have to retexture it yourself.

Thanks, Rookie One. I haven't played with EasyGen in a long time. Maybe I'll give it another try. I still have it on my old PC.

i believe i used easy gen for my battlelinc map. like rook said you have to texture yourself once in radient .

That wouldn't matter to me. I wind up changing textures or creating new ones 4 - 5 times, on every terrain.
