Whatever the other poster said about shaders, FORGET. let's see if we can get you a map first.
Mohaa tools is all you need if using Allied Assault. The SH sdk is for SPEARHEAD. You don't need it.
You can copy and paste these in mapbuilder:
C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA
C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1
C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps\dm
AND
v
fast
fast
for the left side panels in mapbuilder.
After saving your map and opening up mapbuilder hit the refresh button. After doing that goto the other options and select the ffa/tdm option. Hit ok. Select your map in the lower right panel ( highlight it ).......... go down to compile.
After map compiles open game and see if you can see the map in the map selection area.
let us know how you make out.
REMEMBER: when making changes in mapbuilder, you have to close it down and restart it for the changes to take effect.

When I first started mapping many moons ago I depended on this site
http://users.1st.net/kimberly/Tutorial/tut.htm
its very useful in getting an understanding of the basics and you should be able to learn the first steps.
Take your time and read through the tuts and you will be fine.
Good luck.

Can gtkradiant be used for making spearhead maps?if so is it worth it?
Is the NMBuilder totally crud as it appears to be?
I have recieved excellant advice on this site,so have faith in the answers given,i have spent enough time on mohradiant to know the basic's of map building(yes i know i have a hell of alot more to learn but i'm addicted now, lol)
I just need answers to these q's so i can move on in the rite direction with my map making.Hope someone can point me in that direction, cheer's.

You last post concerning the error, I never had it and don't know the fix for it. Hopefully someone else will.
Something YOU did isn't right.
Mapbuilder is a good program. Your unfamiliarity with it is the reason for your problems.
The Spearhead SDK is basically the same tool as MOHAATools. But it's used for Spearhead mapping and has different attributes that the other program doesn't.
If you can't use MOHAATools right, you're still going to have problems with the SDK.
Keep at it, sooner or later things will fall into place.

OK then,if i practice on mohradiant and i build a map that i like and it work's(finger's crossed)can it be made to run on spearhead at a l8r date?

If you make a map and it works with Allied Assault it will also work with Spearhead, but not vice versa.

That's good enough for me....Well i still dont understand why my map look's fine in the 3D window on radiant, but when i go in to look around and check it for size, the actual detail's(wall's/floor/grass) look blurred when you get close up to them,is that normal?

When you load the game, do you run at something other that 800x600 ? Do you have texture compression on ?
While in radiant, if you hit the "s" key it will bring up the surface inspector. On the left ( upper ) side you will see horizontal and vertical shift and horizontal and vertical scale.
The scale, by using the little arrows next to the box will make the textures smaller, so they will look better in the game. You'll have to work with them a little to get the look you want.
The shift, this will make the textures go left or right and up and down.
( think it's shift/control/left mouse button to get the face, ( texture ) highlighted,

Got that, everything's looking much better now, thx. The door look's good now,got the hang of the surface inspector,my next problem,i made the door and the hinge(using origin)and i also put 'func/rotating door' then 'allwaysaway' in KEY,and '1' in the value in entity, but the door still only open's 1 way.

key/value................. angle/90, if that doesn't work vary the degrees. 180/270/45........etc.
For the texture on the door. Always select the whole door, not the front face unless the door doesn't open.
After the door is selected hit either shift/f or contol/f............ don't remember which 2 keys, but it will "fit" the texture to the door.
You can use the "fit" function for other things as needed.

ctrl+f = fit to brush

Rotating doors have been explained so often here, it's really getting ridiculous

Read
this tutorial and your door will do whatever you want. If it doesn't, read it again.
For nice texturing, it's a good idea to set the Texture Scale to 0.5 in the preferences. I strongly believe that that's the way they were ment to be used.
Some words not just to you:
For the forum's sake, start a new thread when you have a new question. Several "private threads" will make things rather confusing, especially for those rare people using the search button. Also, a meaningful title would be nice. "Help me!", "I have a problem!" and "Wahooo" won't help anybody and aren't easier to type than a short description of your problem. Please dont feel offended now: You're not the only one and it's not that bad, I just wanted to say this once...

Thankyou once again for some invaluable advice,my door's are now working both way's just as they should.I shall make a new thread for each question from now on,did'nt know, sry

P.S....that tutorial site you suggested was excellant stuff,ty again, cheer's.
