As we all know you can't satisfy everyone! Everyone has their different opinions on maps and things they want in them. The kind of map you might want may be way different then what I want. I personally like large maps that you can wonder around on and not run into a guy every second. That being the basis of my map SmallTown. That is why we have so many people who make maps. Now, after stating the obvious, I have to agree with jv_map about having multiple people work on maps. I have not found it to be a good idea. While the outome may be good for some it is not for others. As long as you get a team that is willing to stay together and has similar interests in the maps I think it would be fine, but in most cases people walk out for multiple reasons.

Hmm.... to be honest, I've never tried a home made SP map. I always play all single player missions of games I buy, but never look for new ones... but I'm slowly staring to realize ( OK, I am a bit slow ) there are actually mappers out there that have MY best interest in mind *gets a warm feeling all over*. Maby I should try a few of them... Yes I definettly should... :D

I found the ultimate solution! My constant nagging about my map has divided my other Clan members into two camps:

1: I'll ignore him and he'll go away ( Oh please go away! ).
2: Hmm... is that mapping stuff hard? Can you get me started, I got some Ideas...

I will simply take the second camp under my wing and develop them into SUPER INTELLIGENT MAP GENERATORS!!!!
 MOHAHAHAHA!!!!!

...hello? anyone there? Hello? Can you let me out now? I'll be ever so friendly... Please?.... Pleeeeeease?.......

I've got an idea:

each mapper gets a preset size area - say 2000x2000 or what ever
the edges of each persons 'map' must all be level and non blocking
whatever each mapper wishes to do with in that area is up to the mapper
one person takes the collective maps and assembles them into one map

it might not be the nicest looking thing when done - but sure as hell would be interesting mixing everyones own personal styles together.

LOL, ROFL.... :D

That would be like that thing you did in pre-school, when you folded up a pice of paper about 20 times and one person drew someting on the first fold, next persson drew somethingg on the next with only the edges of the first drawing as a guide, and so on... The result was always really BZR  and pretty cool... madly funky idea!!!

( but poor "assembler" )

Problems that I've found with singelplayer maps;

Excellent scripters are generally bad mappers (No offence meant) - so maybe we should get more 'teams' of mappers and scripters

People making maps tend to think if you put absolutely loads of enemy in the game, it automatically makes the game harder. It oes, but only frustrating

Top 6 sp maps:

1. Douvres
2. Westwall
3. Village
5. Winter
6. Town

Now I'm really curious ( said the feline ) :?:

Do you by any chance provide the service of giving an old man explicite links to these wonderful maps? I've got to test what the best the community can produce is :D
