looking at my english or thinking of my french (can't do much more with it than thinking of the worst years I spent in school), I wouldn't make jokes on someone writing something german (well, just on other germans).
I'm always deeply impressed when I meet people from Scandinavia and find their fabulous knowledge of foreign languages (plural!). Unfortunately, many Germans don't even know how to speak or spell their own language like they ought to...
