I know I'm new and all.

But my map consists of 3 stair cases 6 buildings, terrain and skybox(fullysealed), buildings fully modeled with accesories. and my compile time is around 15 minutes...

so I think there might be something wrong with your map.. errors while compiling maybe? or something

I am having trouble getting the compile to work properly after I did what you said in the post. Make detail brushes out of things like stairs, and posts to reduce my overall vis size from 90000 to 23000. What my problem is now, it wont finish the vis stage. In the second stage of vis it starts out ok but the closer it gets to 100 percent the slower it goes. Then it locks up at 99. What did I miss? Had no problems with compile before it just took longerm now it wont work at all.

I dont think it locked up... I've had 3-day compiles... so I think the counting is just slow... still not right however... :?
