With the DVcam what type file is output from it? an Avi, etc...? or something special? Hate to have to get an $800.00 software packagae to edit DVcam file.

Well in my case i hook up my DVcam to my firewire card, MotoDV to capture, then i use Premiere and AfterEffects for editing (photoshop and flash also)
Fileformat? Well it depends what i really want. QT with Sorensen codec is nice, Mpeg4, DiVX, Xvid, etc...

if you dont want to pay the hundreds of dollars on these progs then download them off of kazaa. just scan for virus after downloading, and make sure your downloading from one which about another 20 people have that same file

just a note : all my software that I have is legal. I currently have 1 copy of xp pro, two copies of 2000 pro, 1 copy of photoshop 7.0 upgrade, 1 copy of photoshop 6.0 full, 1 copy of illiustrator full, 1 copy of Golive6.0.1 upgrade, 1 copy of golive 5.0 full, 1 copy of macromedia studio mx. I think that sums it up might have missed something...

I have really gotten into this idea. I have even made a pk3 movie set. (modded aa maps) One with a flying stuka, a firing tank that explodes and all, and a assination attempt on Hilters motorcade. I also have about 15 actors (players).
Filming should be taken place in about 2 weeks. Then it will probably be another two or three weeks for editing. Hoping by fall to have a movie for everyone to view.
