There's no need to be like that Bjarne :?

It's new to some of us and I wanted to know more. I'd never heard of Linux before I mentioned Macs, so I've learnt something new. :)

You are right. Not everyone has heard this discussion forever. Its just that it ALWAYS contain really over the top emotional statements like: "PC's are crap!" & "MAC sucks big time!"... None of them suck, they are just different. Thats what I wanted to point out.

So basically: discuss it all you want, but please be a little more realistic.

Ah I see what you meant now. Yes, people can get a little over the top sometimes. I suppose I would get a little tired if someone was banging on about whether Sabian cymbals were better than Zildjian cymbals in an over the top manor.

And...in keeping with the off topic notion.... hurray England 2 - 0 Liechtenstein :) Marvelous!

They got a couple of the new G5s in the advertising department where I work. A very powerful machine. It handles 30 meg images like they were nothing. It's definitely faster than any single P4 or Athlon I've seen. Unfortunately, for what it cost, I can buy some very exotic PC setups (dual processors or refrigerated overclocked units) with a 1 gig FireGL graphics card that will smoke the G5.

If Mac ever gets their price/performance ratio more competitive, they could get greater market share.
